Obituary

Judith Ann "Judy" (McDonald) Smith, 80, of Morgantown, IN and formerly of Acton, IN passed away Wednesday, November 9, 2022 at her residence surrounded by her family.

She was born January 14, 1942 in Beech Grove, IN to Charles Leroy McDonald and Sara Ellen (Alexander) McDonald.  She married Meredith Leon "Nick" Smith Jr. on December 11, 1964: he preceded her in death on December 25, 1994.

Judy was a 1960 graduate of Clark Township School in Johnson County, IN.

She had worked for JT International in Shelby County, IN for twenty-five years.

Judy was a member of Acton Baptist Church and attended New Beginnings Community Church in Morgantown, IN.

She loved watching TV, working crossword puzzles and coloring on her iPad, spending time with her great grandchildren with the bubble machines, playing go fish and painting leaves and rocks. She also loved humming birds, lighthouses and traveling with her sisters.

Survivors include her son Bryan Scott Smith (Sheilah) of Morgantown, IN, three grandchildren Shane White (Tim) of Morgantown, IN, Autumn Cure (Brad) of Morgantown, IN and Savanah Kean (Ross) of Morgantown, IN, four great-grandchildren Haylie Cure, Eli Rusher, Sawyer Kean and Walker Kean, two sisters Peggy Boyd of Shelbyville, IN and Dee Lite Johnson of Fairland, IN, sister-in-laws Sally Kloepfer of Greenwood, IN and Brenda McDaniel of Greenwood, IN.

She was preceded in death by her parents Charles Leroy McDonald and Sarah Ellen (Alexander) McDonald Yager, her husband Meredith Leon "Nick" Smith Jr. and a brother Ralph "Butch" McDaniel.

Pastor Vernon Snyder will conduct a service on Monday, November 14, 2022 at 2PM at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 South U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin, IN and will be live-streamed at www.swartzmortuary.com .  Friends may call Monday, November 14, 2022 from 12 Noon until service time at the mortuary.  Burial will follow the service at Acton Cemetery in Acton, IN.
