Judy Alyce Misiniec, 77, of Trafalgar, IN passed away on Saturday, December 13, 2025 at Franciscan Health in Indianapolis, IN.

She was born June 19, 1948 in Franklin, IN to Andrew James "Andy" Misiniec Sr. and Grace M. (Blankenship) Misiniec.

Judy was a 1966 graduate of Franklin Community High School, a 1970 graduate of Purdue University with a Bachelor's Degree in Education and her Master's Degree in Education from Indiana University.

From 1970 until her retirement in 2010, Judy had been a second grade school teacher at Indian Creek Elementary School (formerly Trafalgar Elementary).

She was a member of the Nineveh-Hensley-Jackson School Board for fourteen years, serving as secretary and president during her term.  She was a founding member of the Indian Creek Education Foundation and served as the School Board Representative on its governing board. Judy volunteered her time often, even serving as a weekend coordinator for the Ronald McDonald House for a number years.  She participated in many community organizations, but especially loved her bible studies.

Survivors include her brother Joe Bill Misiniec of Franklin, IN, a nephew Jason A. Misiniec (Heather) of Bicknell, IN, nieces Jennifer Westerfeld (Thad) of Franklin, IN, Jessica Coy (David) of Franklin, IN and Jill Down (Aaron) of Wyoming, IL, several great-nieces and nephews, special friends Matt and Kim Davis of Franklin, IN, and Paul and Sally Sturgell of Trafalgar, IN.

Judy was preceded in death by her father on October 19, 1994, her mother on March 15, 2014, her brothers Andrew James "Jim" Misiniec Jr. on December 13, 2005 and John Misiniec on February 8, 2022, and her sister Janet Ann Misiniec on June 8, 2020.

Father Tim DeCrane will conduct a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, December 19, 2025 at 10AM at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 114 Lancelot Drive in Franklin, IN.

Visitation will take place on Thursday, December 18, 2025 from 5PM until 8PM at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 South U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin, IN.

Burial will be at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Greenwood, IN.
