Kenneth David "Dave" Willis Sr. 74, of Franklin, IN passed away Monday May 16, 2022.  He was born August 10, 1947 in Pennington Gap, Virginia to Lawrence Lincoln Willis and Edna Pearl (Poteet) Willis.  He married Debra L. (Dill) Willis and blessed with 50 years of being together.

He graduated from Mooresville High School in 1965 in Mooresville, IN and was drafted directly into the United States Army and was stationed in Germany for two years where he served as a tank commander.  In 1982 and a part of the Indiana National Guard 1438 ^th Transportation Company at Camp Atterbury in Johnson County, IN and served in Operation Desert Storm.  He retired from the U.S. Army after 30 years of service.

He had also been a union carpenter in Indianapolis for several years.

Survivors include his wife Debra L. (Dill) Willis of Franklin, IN, two sons Kenneth David Willis Jr. of Franklin, IN and Anthony "Tony" J. Willis of Camby, IN, a grandson Andrew Tyler Willis and a granddaughter Johanna Sunshine Willis, brothers Randell Willis (Mary) of Indianapolis, IN, Curt Willis of Quincy, IN and Earl Willis (Brenda) of Camby, IN, a sister Nancy May (Bob) of Cloverdale, IN.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Garcie Willis and sisters Phyllis Osborne and Janice Gott.

Pastor Ernie Harvey Jr. will conduct a service on Friday, May 20, 2022 at 6:30 P.M. at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 South U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin, IN with military honors to be conducted by the United States Army Honor Guard and Franklin American Legion Post #205 Honor Guard and will be live-streamed at www.swartzmortuary.com .  Friends may call Friday, May 20, 2022 from 3PM until service time at the mortuary.
