Kimberly Jo (Sleighter) Brester, 61, of Franklin, IN passed away Thursday, April 17, 2025 at Franciscan Hospice House in Indianapolis, IN with her loving family by her side.

She was born November 4, 1963 in Columbus, IN to Carl Leslie Sleighter and JoAnn (Buckner) Sleighter.  Kim married Mark Joseph Brester on August 16, 1986 in Trafalgar, IN, he survives.

She was a 1982 graduate of Indian Creek High School and graduated in 1986 from Indiana Central College (University of Indianapolis).

Kim had served as the Community Service Manager and Office Manager at Johnson County Community Corrections for 28 years.

She was a longtime member of First Presbyterian Church in Franklin where she had served as Treasurer.

Kim enjoyed spending time in Venice, Florida, spending time with her family, grandchildren, and numerous friends.  She was a loving sports and dance mom.

Survivors include her husband Mark Joseph Brester of Franklin, IN, her daughter Lindsay (Brester) Burks and son-in-law Nick Burks of Franklin, IN, her son Connor Brester and daughter-in-law Hannah (Sauce) Brester of Indianapolis, her mother JoAnn (Buckner) Sleighter of Franklin, IN and formerly of Trafalgar, IN, her grandchildren Grady, Griffin, and Dawson Burks, and her brother Tim Sleighter and sister-n-law Marcia (Weddle) Sleighter of Trafalgar, IN.

She was preceded in death by her father Carl Leslie Sleighter.

Pastor Bill Turner will conduct a service on Wednesday, April 23, 2025 at 11AM at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 South U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin, IN and will be live-streamed at www.swartzmortuary.com/obituary/kimberlybrester.

Friends may call Tuesday, April 22, 2025 from 4PM until 8PM.

Burial will be at Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin, IN.
