Larry Wayne Christner, 80, of Franklin, IN passed away on Saturday, April 18, 2026 at Franciscan Hospice House in Indianapolis, IN.

He was born June 22, 1945 in LaGrange, IN to Monroe and Edna Mae (Hershberger) Christner.  Larry married Vicki A. (Coovert) Christner on November 7, 1981 in Franklin, IN, she survives.

Larry was a graduate of LaGrange High School.

He had been employed by Sam's Club in South Bend, IN for five years.  Larry previously had been a heavy equipment operator.

He was an avid fisherman, a landscape artist, and enjoyed spending time with his family.

Survivors include his wife Vicki A. (Coovert) Christner of Franklin, IN, his children Amy Berendt (Jon) of Logansport, IN, Phillip O'Neil (Jameson) of Spencer, IN, Nikki Pinney (Jon) of Daytona Beach, FL, Mandy Christner of Franklin, IN, Andraea Reed (Clint) of Indianapolis, IN, 7 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a granddaughter Taylor Nikol Pinney and siblings Allen Ray Christner, Gerald Christner, Agnes Marie Christner, Adrain Orva "Chris" Christner, Arnold Christner and Esther Ellen Christner Christophel.

Pastor Clint Reed will conduct a service on Saturday, April 25, 2026 at 6PM at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 South U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin, IN and will be live-streamed at www.swartzmortuary.com/obituary/larrychristner.  Visitation will be Saturday, April 25, 2026 from 4:30PM until service time at the mortuary.
