Larry Thomas Patterson

Larry Thomas Patterson Jr., 62, of Mooresville, Indiana, affectionately known as Tom by his family and friends, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family.

Tom was born on October 24, 1963, in Beech Grove, Indiana, to Larry Thomas Patterson Sr. and Barbara Ann (Menke) Patterson.

On September 24, 2022, he married the love of his life, Celeste D. (Watts) Patterson, and together they built a life filled with faith, love, and cherished memories.

A proud 1982 graduate of Perry Meridian High School and Central Nine Career Center in Greenwood, Tom dedicated his career to serving others through his work as co-owner and operator of Good Guys Heating & Cooling. He was known for his strong work ethic, honesty, and willingness to help anyone in need.

Tom attended Freedom Missionary Baptist Church in Speedway, where he found great joy in leading congregational singing and worshiping his Lord and Savior. His love for music and his unwavering faith touched many lives.

In September 2020, Tom was diagnosed with a glioblastoma. Through God's grace, excellent medical care, and his unwavering determination, he courageously fought the disease and enjoyed several years of remission before it returned in January 2025. Throughout his journey, Tom faced every challenge with remarkable strength, steadfast faith, and hope, inspiring all who had the privilege of walking alongside him. His resilience and trust in the Lord were a testament to the man he was.

Outside of work and church, Tom enjoyed spending time outdoors fishing, hunting and boating and was a devoted Indiana University basketball fan. Above all, his greatest joy came from spending time with his family. Whether celebrating holidays, cheering on his grandchildren, or simply enjoying everyday moments together, Tom treasured every opportunity to be surrounded by those he loved.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his beloved wife, Celeste D. Patterson of Mooresville; his children, Hayden Patterson (Cheyenne) of Indianapolis, Devon Shive (Carmen) of Louisville, Kentucky, Lindsy Horton (Andrew) of Indianapolis, and Lauren Jones (Eric) of Indianapolis; his treasured grandchildren, Rowan Patterson, Finley Patterson, Harlow Patterson, Dottie Patterson, Linleigh Shive, Eleanor Shive, Cooper Shive, Leelan Horton, Tucker Horton, Gracelyn Horton, Knox Horton, Wyc Jones, and Carolin Jones; his loving mother, Barbara Ann (Menke) Patterson of Indianapolis; and his brother, Rob Patterson (Sherry) of Gallatin, Tennessee.

Tom will be remembered for his steadfast faith, generous heart, joyful spirit, and deep love for his family. His legacy of kindness, devotion, and unwavering love for the Lord will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
