Lawrence "Larry" Douglas Mowat, 81, of Greenwood, IN passed away Thursday, April 18, 2024.

He was born August 13, 1942 in Detroit, Michigan to George and Catherine Ann (Welsh) Mowat.  He married Rita Joanne (Mills) Mowat on September 28, 1963 in Toledo, OH; she preceded him in death on January 4, 2023.

Larry had been an application specialist for Hologic Corporation.

He was a founding member of Saints Francis and Clare of Assisi Catholic Church in Greenwood, IN.

Larry and his late wife Rita enjoyed R.V. camping, traveling, and going on cruises to the Caribbean and Alaska.

Survivors include his son Lawrence Mowat Jr. of Villa Rica, GA, daughters Jennifer L. Danek (Steve) of Indianapolis, IN, Laurie Ann Mowat of Greenwood, IN and Rebecca M. Skeel (Joe) of Nineveh, IN, eight grandchildren Jacob Danek, Ruth Danek, Noah Skeel, Nathan Danek, Isaac Skeel, Leah Danek, Deborah Danek and Miriam Danek, and a sister Georgie Cannady (John) of Seattle, WA.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, a brother Gordon Mowat and a sister Sharon Potter.

Father Steve Giannini will conduct a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, May 11, 2024 at 12 Noon at Sts. Francis and Clare of Assisi Catholic Church, 5901 Olive Branch Road in Greenwood, IN. Friends may call on Saturday, May 11, 2024 from 10:30AM until 11:30AM at which time a Rosary Service will be conducted with the funeral mass to follow.  Ennichement will follow the service in the Resurrection Garden Columbarium at Saints Francis and Clare of Assisi Catholic Church in Greenwood, IN.

Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 South U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin, IN is handling the arrangements.
