Leota Lou (Hancock) Lange, 77, of Franklin, IN passed away Saturday, June 14, 2025 at Indiana University Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, IN.

She was born June 19, 1947 in Dunkirk, Jay County, Indiana to John L. Hancock and Marjorie Belle (Atkins) Hancock.  Leota married Gary L. Lange on August 15, 1992 at Community Congregational Church in Franklin, IN; he preceded her in death on September 28, 2012.

Leota received her Registered Nursing degree form Marion County General Hospital School of Nursing in 1968.  She received her Bachelor Science of Nursing at the University of St. Francis.

She specialized in occupational and emergency room nursing and was an occupational health nurse in several facilities in Franklin, Batesville, North Vernon, Seymour, and Indianapolis businesses.  Leota also served as a case manager for Americare Home Care.

She was a longtime member of Hurricane Community Church.

Her smile will be missed and her special charisma was like no other.

Survivors include her sister Treva M. Rambow of LaPeer, Michigan, a sister-in-law Kathy Adams of Lutheran Lake, IN, many extended family members and close friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brother-in-law Gary Rambow.

Pastor Dan McLaughlin will conduct a service on Thursday, June 19, 2025 at 11AM at Hurricane Community Church, 4592 Hurricane Road, Franklin, IN 46131 with visitation from 10AM until service time at the church.

Inurnment will take place at Hurricane Cemetery in Franklin, IN.
