Lillian Sego Clarke

Lillian Kathleen (Gosnell) Sego Clarke, 82, of Franklin, IN passed on the afternoon of July 19, 2026 at Morning Point assisted living facility Franklin, IN, surrounded by her loved ones.

Lillian was born October 6, 1943 at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis to William Gosnell and Velma (Cross) Gosnell Turk. Lillian married her husband, Donald “Don” Sego in 1961 in Indianapolis, IN, and then Richard Clarke in 1978 in Greenwood, IN both having preceded her in death.

She is survived by her sons, Jeffrey “Jeff” Sego of Franklin, IN, Ronald “Ron” and Kim Sego of Gwen, MI, Douglas “Doug” Sego and Brandy Wethington of Franklin, IN, Brian and Susan Clarke of New Palestine, IN, Anthony “Tony” and Tammy Clarke of Whiteland, IN, sisters, Charlene Plunkett of Speedway, IN, Debbie Payne of Greenwood, IN, brothers Max and Denise Gosnell of Knoxville, TN, and Treavor and Linda Turk of Indianapolis, IN, 19 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Lillian was preceded in death by her mother, Velma (Cross) Gosnell Turk, her father, William Gosnell and Farrell Turk, both her husbands Don Sego and Richard Clarke, her brother’s Paul Gosnell, Curtis Gosnell, her sister Trudy Gill, her grandson Donnie Sego and her great-granddaughter Audrey Sego.

Lillian was a preschool teacher at Northern Park Baptist Church. She was also a dedicated employee of 16+ and Target department stores where she developed a lifetime friendship with many of the workers. She was a faithful member of Northern Park Baptist, Emmanuel, and Grace Point churches where she taught and loved countless children.

Her passion was her family. She enjoyed crafting and flowers. She was and still is the strength of this family hosting many holiday events. We were all made better by knowing this wonderful woman, and she will be missed by all.

Pastor Zach Scellato will conduct a service on Monday, July 27, 2026 at noon at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 S. US 31 (Morton St.) Franklin, IN. and will be live streamed at www.swartzmortuary.com/obituary/lillianclarkesego

Friends may call Monday, July 27, 2026 from 9 AM until noon at the mortuary. Burial will follow the services at Greenwood Cemetery in Greenwood, IN.
