Lorene Mae (Cummings) Edwards, 88, of Indianapolis, IN and formerly of Marion, IN passed away Monday, June 10, 2024 at University Heights Health and Living Community in Indianapolis, IN.

She was born March 31, 1936 in Joiletville, IN to Charles Franklin and Inez (Wilson) Cummings.  She married Melvin Edwards in 1964 in Martinsville, IN, they were married 58 years, he preceded her in death on December 26, 2022.

She had worked for Western Electric which became Lucent Technologies in Indianapolis, IN.  She retired as an electronic technologist after 40 years of service.  She also had a real estate license in Ohio.  She sold Avon for over 40 years.

She enjoyed flower gardening and loved all of her plants, and collecting.

Survivors include her son Carl "Eddie" Faucett (Debbie) of Martinsville, IN, a daughter Tari of Indianapolis, IN, step-son Steve Edwards (Lisa) of Greenwood, IN, step-daughter Patty Eldridge (Larry) of Naples, FL, fifteen grandchildren, twenty-five great-grandchildren and sixteen great-great- grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughters LaRena Mae, Dorinda Faucett, Tonya Faucett and Kayla Wilson, three brothers Gerald Cummings, Lowell Cummings, Wayne Cummings and a sister Frances Martin.

Pastor Shan Rutherford will conduct a service on Saturday, June 15, 2024 at 2:30PM at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 South U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin, IN and will be live-streamed at www.swartzmortuary.com/obituary/loreneedwards.  Friends may call Saturday, June 15, 2025 from 12:30PM until service time at the mortuary.  Burial will be at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Greenwood, IN.
