Louise M. (Huddle) Voos, 90, of Greenwood, IN passed away Monday, September 26, 2022.
She was born June 18, 1932 in East St. Louis, Illinois to Henry Benjamin Elmer Huddle and Bertha Madeleine (Klipfel) Huddle. She married William J. "Bill" Voos on August 27, 1954 in St. Louis, MO; he preceded her in death on January 10, 2021.
She was a 1949 graduate of Bellville High School in Bellville, IL and graduated cum laude from Washington University with a Bachelor of Arts degree.
She had been a kindergarten and second grade teacher for 10 years in East St. Louis, IL.
Louise had been a member of the Community Church of Greenwood along with her late husband where she was a member of the MOPS and volunteered at Planned Parenthood. She also and been a previous member of Center Grove Presbyterian Church where she was active in the church choir and had served as an elder at Covenant Presbyterian Church in Marietta, Georgia. She most recently attended Southland Community Church in Greenwood. She was a beloved mom, creative, giving, kind, and known as the horsewoman and loved all animals. Louise "Mom" to our friends was an avid reader, storyteller, gardener, loved to cook, write stories and draw illustrations. She was a Godly woman, prayer warrior and shepherd.
Survivors include her daughters Nancy Givens and son-in-law Paul Givens of Southlake, Texas, Susan Blackledge and son-in-law Fred of Indianapolis, IN and Patricia Voos of Greenwood, IN, two grandsons Jack Givens of Southlake, Texas and Luke Givens of Southlake, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and brother John Huddle.
Pastor Steve Schellin will conduct a service on Monday, October 3, 2022 at 10AM at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 South U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin, IN and will be live-streamed at www.swartzmortuary.com . Friends may call Monday, October 3, 2022 from 9AM until service time. A graveside service will follow on Monday at 1PM at Marion National Cemetery in Marion, IN.
