Marcia Lee (Whetstine) Austin, 87, of Franklin, IN went peacefully to be with the Lord on July 21, 2024.

She was born August 9, 1936 in Franklin, Indiana to Virgil and Juanita (Hillman) Whetstine.  She married Robert Morgan on March 25, 1956 with a marriage of 23 years cut short after his passing of heart failure on November 5, 1979.

She later married LTC (Ret) Larry Austin on October 3, 1986, he survives.

Marcia graduated from Franklin High School in 1954.  She had worked at Rothschild's, United Telephone, Standard, and Kroger grocery stores.  With her varied positions, she knew most Franklin residents.

She was active in Delta Theta Tau Sorority for many years.  Marcia enjoyed traveling with Larry, sports, fishing, and camping.

Faith first, family second, but being a wonderful grandmother and great- grandmother was her pride and joy.

She was a member of Franklin Memorial Christian, Greenwood Christian, Lifepoint Christian of Indianapolis and an associate member of Mission First Christian Church of Mission, Texas.

Marcia received the Legion of Hoosier Heroines, which was awarded by Adjutant General of Indiana for her support of military organizations.

Survivors include her husband LTC (Ret) Larry Austin of Franklin, IN, her children Bobbi White of Indianapolis, IN, Tammie Peterec of Indianapolis, IN and Larry Austin (Patti) of Greenwood, IN, grandchildren Taylor Seitz (Josh), Zachary Austin (Morgan), Erin White, Alex Peterec, Abby Crabbe (Conner), great-grandchildren Gentry Austin, Walker Austin, Xavier Seitz, Addley Seitz, Luke Seitz, Mila Seitz, Rook Seitz, Bjorn Crabbe, a sister Nancy Pruitt of Trafalgar, IN and a brother Larry Whetstine of Indianapolis, IN.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Robert Morgan, brothers Leroy Whetstine and Tim Whetstine, sisters Debbie Whetstine, Joyce Kidwell, Marlene Foster and Janice Wood.

A service will be conducted on Saturday, July 27, 2024 at 2:30PM at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 South U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin, IN and will be live-streamed at www.swartzmortuary.com/obituary/marciaaustin.com

Friends may call Saturday, July 27, 2024 from 12PM Noon until service time at the mortuary.  Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin, IN.
