Marilyn Kay (Hostetler) Hodosi, 81, of Whitestown, IN formerly of Greenwood, IN passed away Sunday, December 1, 2024 surrounded by her loving family.

She was born May 9, 1943 in La Porte, Indiana to Gerald Ellsworth Hostetler and Doris Anna (Ames) Hostetler.  She was a graduate of Mill Creek High School (IN) and South Bend College of Commerce (IN).

Marilyn's love, kindness, and generosity were a gift to everyone who knew her. Marilyn found joy in creating cherished memories with her family, whether at gatherings or traveling together. Her greatest love, however, was being a Nana.  She treasured every moment spent with her grandchildren, sharing laughter and wisdom.  She enjoyed reading and was a passionate gardener.  Marilyn cultivated stunning flowers, a pastime she delighted in sharing with her siblings.  Thoughtful and caring, she had a special way of remembering the milestones that mattered most to others, often expressing her love through cards of celebration, thanks, and encouragement.  Those who were close to her, knew of her love for Garfield and giraffes.

Professionally, Marilyn dedicated thirty years as an Executive Secretary and Funeral Assistant at Singleton and Herr Mortuary, later known as Singleton Community Mortuary and Memorial Center in Southport, IN.  Following her retirement, she continued serving families with compassion and grace as a Bookkeeper at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center in Franklin, IN for seven years.

Survivors include her children Michelle M. Youngcourt (David) of Indianapolis, IN, Jonelle A. Holt of Indianapolis, IN and Jason J. Hodosi (Gabriela Zorzutti) of Erie, CO, her four grandchildren Spencer D. Youngcourt of Tempe, AZ, Kelsey M. Youngcourt of Indianapolis, IN, Julia Hodosi and Enzo Hodosi of Erie, CO, her brother Kenneth N. Hostetler (Barbara) of Newtown, CT and sister Judy A. McIntosh of Sellersburg, IN.

She will also be deeply missed by nieces, nephews, friends, neighbors, and her companion, Samuel Taylor.

She was preceded in death by her parents, stepmother Mary M. Hostetler, a brother Norman L. Hostetler, a brother-in-law Dennis W. McIntosh, and former spouse John J. Hodosi.

The Pastor Bill Turner will conduct a celebration of living honoring Marilyn's life on Saturday, December 28, 2024 at 3PM at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 South U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin, IN and will be live-streamed at www.swartzmortuary.com/obituary/marilynhodosi.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, December 28, 2024 from 1PM until service time at the mortuary.  Inurnment will take place at Washington Park East Cemetery in Indianapolis, IN.
