Marilyn (Beaman) Kerner, 91, of Ft. Wayne, IN and formerly of Franklin, IN passed away Saturday, May 21, 2022 at StoryPoint West Senior Living in Ft. Wayne, IN.

She was born September 10, 1930 in Franklin, IN to Herbert William Beaman and Sophia (Wirey) Beaman.  She married Ercel Kerner on July 10, 1952 in Franklin, IN and he survives.

She was a 1948 graduate of Franklin High School and a 1952 graduate of Franklin College.  She had been an elementary school teacher having taught at Payne Elementary School in Franklin, IN; in West Lafayette, IN; and Milwaukee, WI.  She was a member of the Delta Zeta Sorority.  Marilyn enjoyed needlepoint and traveling.

Survivors include her husband, Ercel Kerner, of Ft. Wayne, IN; two sons Steve Kerner (Beth) of New Haven, IN and Dave Kerner (Meredith) of Kokomo, IN; grandchildren Justin Kerner, Jamie Kerner, Megan Barthelemy (Kevin), Andrew Kerner and Matt Kerner; great grandchildren Kayden and Eli Kerner and Skylar, Trinity and Gracelyn Barthelemy; a brother Marvin Beaman (Louise) of Franklin, IN; and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Phyllis Baker.

Dr. J. Wesley Hertel will conduct a service on Tuesday, May 24, 2022 at 2PM at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 South U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin, IN and will be live-streamed at www.swartzmortuary.com .  Friends may call Tuesday, May 24, 2022 from 12 Noon until service time at the mortuary.  Burial will be at Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin, IN.
