Marion Eugene Doan, 84, of Franklin, IN passed away on Saturday, May 30, 2026.  He was born April 10, 1942 in Indianapolis, IN to Donald Floyd Doan and Agnes Marie (Selch) Doan. He married Nancy J. (Ellis) Doan on May 7, 1982 in Indianapolis, IN, she survives.

Marion was a 1960 graduate of Union Township School in Johnson County.  He had been an owner operator for FEDEX Custom Critical for 21 years, retiring in 2015. Marion previously owned and operated D&C Appliance in Franklin, IN and was a maintenance manager for Preston Safeway Grocery in Indianapolis, IN.

He enjoyed hunting, gardening, reading, and especially salmon fishing at the Great Master River in Tippy Dam, Michigan.

Marion was a wonderful friend to many others and especially his close friends Jerry McAbee, John Taylor, Gene Hamm, Jimmy Payne, Bob Summers and Bill French.

Survivors include his wife Nancy J. (Ellis) Doan of Franklin, his sister Donna Hudson of Franklin, IN, his children Rhonda Denzio (John) of Franklin, IN, Patti Doan of Franklin, IN, Amy Beth Reagan (Jeffrey) of Greenwood, IN, Angie Seif (Adam) of Fishers, IN, Mary Brummet of Franklin, IN, Howard Watkins (Mel) of Trafalgar, IN, and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

His parents preceded him in death.

The Reverend Shan Rutherford will conduct a service on Friday, June 5, 2026 at 2:30 PM at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 South U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin, IN and will be live-streamed at www.swartzmortuary.com/obituary/mariondoan.  Visitation will be Friday June 5, 2026 from 12 Noon until service time at the mortuary.

Burial will follow the service at First Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Franklin, IN.
