Marsha Kay "Mardy" (Anderson) Simpson, 70, of Indianapolis, IN passed away Sunday, December 10, 2023 at Community Hospital East in Indianapolis, IN.
She was born March 20, 1953 in Martinsville, IN to Charles Melvern Anderson and Beaulahmae Jane (Doty) Anderson. Marsha married Otha C. Simpson on October 17, 1970 in Indianapolis, IN, he survives.
She had been a cafeteria manager for the Center Grove Community School Corporation serving at Center Grove High School, Center Grove Middle School and Center Grove Elementary School for twenty-six years. She was a loving homemaker.
Survivors include her husband of 53 years Otha C. Simpson of Indianapolis, IN, sons Charles Simpson of Indianapolis, IN, Aaron Simpson of Indianapolis, IN and Jimmy Simpson (Tiffany) of Indianapolis, IN, daughters Lidia Simpson (Quincy Pollard) of Greenwood, IN and Deidra Walraven (Travis) of Whiteland, IN, brothers Jimmy Anderson (Sherry) of Mooresville, IN and Dennis Anderson (Shani) of Punta Gorda, FL, sister Nila Talkington (Mike) of Fort Meyers, FL, in-laws, Jodi Perkins of Bargersville, IN and Leisha Simpson-Buck (Kenny) of Franklin, IN, grandchildren Tristen Walraven, Lachlan Pollard, Amy Simpson, Melissa "PJ" Simpson and Jamie Simpson, several nieces, nephews as well as many "adopted" children and grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents Charles Melvern Anderson and Beaulahmae Jane (Doty) Anderson, a sister Sherry Dean (Anderson) Thompson, brother Jerry Lee Anderson, in-laws Hulon and Barbara (Jameison) Simpson, brother-in-law Russell Perkins, sisters-in-law Mable (Simpson) Webb and Janice (Simpson) Miethe.
Pastor Dustin Hite will conduct a service on Friday, December 15, 2023 at 4PM at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 South U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin, IN and will be live-streamed at www.swartzmortuary.com. The family will receive friends for a time of gathering on Friday, December 15, 2023 from 12 Noon until service time at the mortuary.
