Obituary

Marshall H. Kinser, 94, of New Whiteland, IN passed away on Monday, February 10, 2025 at Hickory Creek at Franklin.

He was born September 26, 1930 in Bloomington, IN to Marshall Kinser and Esther (Nethery) Covey.

Marshall married Sue R. (Bowers) Kinser in January of 1961 in Indianapolis, IN; she preceded him in death on December 19, 2013.

He had been a union painter in Indianapolis, IN for 45 years having worked for Epperson and Lester.

Marshall attended Mt. Auburn Church at Stones Crossing, Greenwood, IN.  He was an avid Indiana University sports fan, loved watching old western movies, going to the horse track, and spending time with his late wife in St. Petersburg, FL.

Survivors include his children Ronnie Kinser (Cathy) of Bloomington, IN, Michael O. Kinser of Indianapolis, IN, Debra Smith of Bargersville, IN, Toni Vogel of New Whiteland, IN and Janice White (Howard) of Camby, IN, grandchildren Carl (Kim),  Anthony, John, Brittney, Amy, Brandy and Chris, great-grandchildren MacKenzie, Dillan, Anthony, Seth, Marley, Jonathon and Wesley and one great-great-granddaughter.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and a brother Herman Kinser.

Pastor Mike Crockett will conduct a service on Monday, February 17, 2025 at 2PM at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 South U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin, IN and will be live-streamed at www.swartzmortuary.com/obituary/marshallkinser.  Friends may call Monday, February 17, 2025 from 12 Noon until service time at the mortuary.  Burial will follow the service at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Greenwood, IN.
