Marvin Eugene Rinker, 76, of Greenwood, IN passed away on Saturday, March 29, 2025 surrounded by his family.
He was born March 14, 1949 in Hastings, Nebraska to Melvin Charles Rinker and DeLoris (Thompson) Rinker. He married Patsy D. (Baldock) Rinker on July 11, 1970 at Franklin Memorial Christian Church in Franklin, IN, she survives.
Marvin was a 1967 graduate of Center Grove High School.
He was a United States Air Force Veteran of the Vietnam War having served from 1967 until 1971.
Marvin served as a sales representative for the Hostess and Wonder Bread Company in Indianapolis for 45 years retiring in 2015.
He was a member of Bluff Creek Christian Church in Greenwood where he had served as elder and deacon.
Marvin enjoyed golfing, collecting pottery, and antiquing.
Survivors include his wife Patsy D. (Baldock) Rinker of Greenwood, IN, his son Eric Rinker and daughter-in-law Haylee Rinker of Whiteland, IN, his daughter Shana Rinker Mann of Greenwood, IN, a granddaughter Magnolia Kay Mann of Indianapolis, IN, grandsons Milo Charles Morgan of Greenwood, IN and Maveric Lake Rinker of Whiteland, IN, several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Melvin Charles Rinker and DeLoris (Thompson) Rinker, sisters Yvonne Judd and Gayle Shaffer.
Pastor Jeremy Towne will conduct a service on Friday, April 4, 2025 at 1PM at Bluff Creek Christian Church, 6286 West State Road 144, Greenwood, IN with military honors to follow and being conducted by the United State Air Force Honor Guard and Franklin American Legion Post 205 Honor Guard. Friends may call Friday, April 4, 2025 from 10AM until service time at the church.
A private family inurnment will take place at Bluff Creek Cemetery in Greenwood at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to Bluff Creek Christian Church, 6286 West State Road 144 Greenwood, IN 46143.
Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 South U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin, IN is handling the arrangements.
