Marvin Leroy Subbert, 92 of Greenwood, IN and formerly of St. Anne, IL passed away Tuesday, January 7, 2025 at Demaree Crossing in Greenwood, IN.

He was born May 27, 1932 in Kankakee, Illinois to Leroy Subbert and Elinor (Yonker) Subbert.  He married Jane Elizabeth (Schilling) Subbert and were married for 68 years before her passing in 2022.

Mr. Subbert was a lifelong farmer and also had worked at Reper Corporation for several years.

He loved, raised and showed registered Shetland ponies.  Several of his ponies are in the Hall of Fame.  Mr. Subbert was also a show judge and steward.

He was very active in his church, Asbury United Methodist Church and served as trustee for several years.

Mr. Subbert travelled with showing and judging.  He had been a 4-H Leader for over 40 years.  He was a farm toy collector and designed and built 1/64th scale toys.

Survivors include his children Michael Lee Subbert (Sherry) of Peoria, Arizona and Mary (Subbert) Widick of Greenwood, IN, his grandchildren Jilian Miller (Derek), Stacy Tarvin (Brian) and Matthew Widick (Sarah), great grandchildren Logan Tarvin, Jaxon Tarvin, Ella Miller, Grayson Miller, Amara Widick, Mila Widick and Vivian Widick.

Services were private.

Inurnment will take place at Peotone Cemetery in Peotone, IL.
