Obituary

Mary Ann (Leasure) Pitcher, 89, of Franklin, IN passed away Tuesday, September 24, 2024 at Otterbein Franklin SeniorLife Community.

She was born August 14, 1935 in Rushville, IN to Roy and Esther (Hardwick) Leasure.  Mary Ann married Jack Loren Pitcher on July 23, 1955 in Rush County, IN; he preceded her in death on April 10, 2004.

She was a 1953 graduate of Rushville High School.

Mary Ann was a past member of Triton Central Nazarene Church in Fairland, IN where she was the pianist, a member of the church quartet and served as church secretary/treasurer.  She was a current member of Grace United Methodist Church in Franklin, IN.  Mary Ann enjoyed painting.

She was a loving homemaker, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother.

Survivors include her daughters Teresa A. Baker of Franklin, IN and Cheryl S. Karnes (Tom) of Shelbyville, IN, her son Jay L. Pitcher (Brinda) of Noblesville, IN, seven grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren and two-great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

Chaplain Deb Baker will conduct a service on Friday, September 27, 2024 at 1PM at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 South U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin, IN and will be live-streamed at www.swartzmortuary.com/obituary/maryannpitcher .  Friends may call Friday, September 27, 2024 from 11AM until service time at the mortuary.  Burial will be at First Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Franklin, IN.
