Mary Jane Stubbeman, 87, of Avon, IN passed away Tuesday, July 22, 2025 at Brownsburg Health Care Center in Brownsburg, IN.

She was born January 15, 1938 in Franklin, IN to Robert L. Stubbeman and Velma Eva (Terrell) Stubbeman

She was a 1956 graduate of Franklin High School, received her bachelors of science degree in Elementary Education in 1960 from Indiana State University and later her master's degree in school media services, elementary education and library science from Indiana State University.

Mary Jane started her teaching at Indianapolis Public School #20, later at Break-O-Day Elementary in Whiteland, IN, then Kokomo Schools, and retired from Isom Elementary School in education librarian with the Greenwood Community Schools in 2002 after a 38-year long career.

Survivors include her sons Brent Steven Terry of Avon, IN and Brock Sterling Terry, Bloomington, IN, (fiancé Mary Anne Schneider, of Columbus, IN), and grandchildren Brandon Nathaniel Terry (fiancé Sage Sherfick), Adam Daniel Terry and Jessica Nicole Terry, all of Bloomington, IN.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a son Bryce Stewart Terry on June 27, 2002, and siblings Robert J. Stubbeman, Joseph E. Stubbeman and Lee Stubbeman.

Pastor Jim Haugen will conduct a graveside service on Saturday, August 9, 2025 at 11AM at Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin, IN.
