Mathew Delbert Aleksa, 80, of Whiteland, IN passed away Sunday, November 13, 2022 at Hickory Creek at Franklin, IN. He was born November 3, 1942 in Indianapolis, IN to Mathew and Ellen Delight (Windhorst) Aleksa.
He retired as city truck driver for Roadway Express after 32 years of service.
Mathew was a member of Your Venture Church in Lizton, IN, Teamsters Local 135 in Indianapolis and the NRA. He enjoyed hunting deer, elk, turkey, and fishing.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years Susan K. (Fleming) Aleksa whom he married on June 17, 1966 at Southport Baptist Church, of Whiteland, IN, sons Douglas Aleksa (LeAnn) of Avon, IN, David Aleksa (Mingqiu) of Sanford, NC, a daughter Tamella Myars (Chad) of Frankfort, IN, sisters Betty Deer (Larry) of Greenfield, IN and Loretta Aleksa of Indianapolis, IN, brothers Roger Aleksa (Judi) of Peoria, AZ and John Aleksa (Jeannine) of Carmel, IN, grandchildren Abby Fitzpatrick (Ian) of Plainfield, IN, Alivia Lyon (Joe) of Lafayette, IN, Tyler Myars of Crawfordsville, IN, Brooke Myars of Cookeville, TN, Mackenzie Myars of Noblesville, IN, Tanner Aleksa of Avon, IN and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents Mathew and Ellen Delight (Windhorst) Aleksa, two sisters Patricia McCaslin and Mary Louise Aleksa.
Pastor Rob Dugan will conduct at service on Saturday, November 19, 2022 at 11AM at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 South U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin, IN and will be live-streamed at www.swartzmortuary.com . Friends may call Friday, November 18, 2022 from 4PM until 8PM at the mortuary.
