Matthew Fred "Matt" Linville, 53, longtime resident of Franklin, IN passed away peacefully surrounded by family and friends on Tuesday evening, August 8, 2023, at his residence, Sevita Health on Graham Street in Franklin, IN.  Matt was born November 25, 1969, in Indianapolis, IN.  Matt was the son of Fred & Helen Ann (Miller) Linville, of Franklin, IN.   Matt attended Gateway Services and Earlywood Educational Center.

Despite Matt having his physical and mental limitations, he could always somehow get his message understood.  Whether he wanted something, your attention, your affection or just a back rub required for having the pleasure of sitting next to him, people flocked to Matt.  Without him even realizing it, he has touched so many people with his actions and pure heart.  Throughout his life, he showed people that individuals with special needs are exceptional people.  He taught regular people how to become better human beings and we are so blessed by that.  Matt's loves in life were his Lego's, drinking cokes, McDonald's frappes, and especially Santa Clause.  Matt is now restored, made whole and is in the presence of his earthly parents, whom he has missed tremendously over the past 2 ½ years, and his eternal Father.  As one of his care staff stated, "It wouldn't surprise me if he did a roll and a flip right past the pearly gates."  Guaranteed the first thing spoken to Matt was "well done good and faithful servant."

Survivors include his siblings, Charlotte Sullivan (Shawn) of Bradenton, FL, Jacob Linville (Dana Shank) of Shelbyville, IN, Maria Hartman of Indianapolis, IN and J.C. Linville (Shannon) of Franklin, IN; nephews and nieces Jake Rose of Nashville, TN, Colin Hartman of Indianapolis, IN, Michael Linville of Franklin, IN, Payton Hartman of Indianapolis, IN, Spencer Sullivan of Chapel Hill, NC, Wyatt Linville (Taylor) of Whiteland, IN, Ethan Sullivan of Franklin, IN, Maverick Linville (Emma) of Salem, IN, Sarah Sullivan of Franklin, IN, Anna Linville of Franklin, IN and Grace Linville of Franklin, IN, a great-niece Rosalee Linville of Morgantown, IN and a great-nephew Jedd Linville of Whiteland, IN, also a special cousin Beth Pfister (Jeff) of Fishers, IN.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a great-niece, Vivian Drew Linville.

The family would like to extend a very special thank you to the staff at Sevita Health and previous staff of Cardinal Service Management Team under the founder AZ Soforenko.  We would like to recognize especially Shellee Mandabach, Karen Anderson, Abbie Kean, Jenni Hicks, Michelle Hayes, Tracy Price, Chelsea Harrison, Erica Branum and Josh Grow.  These people have gone above and beyond loving and taking care of Matt for the last 32+ years.  Their dedication and professionalism have been such a blessing to the family and to Matt.  They are truly family.  Also, the family would like to extend our thanks to Main Street Hospice for all the support to both the family and Matt during this difficult time.

Father Tim DeCrane will conduct a funeral service on Monday, August 14, at 1:30pm at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 South U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin, IN and will be live-streamed at www.swartzmortuary.com.  Friends may call from 11AM Monday, August 14, 2023 until service time.  Burial will be at Forest Hill Cemetery in Shelbyville, IN.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Gateway Services, PO Box 216, Franklin, IN 46131 or at www.gatewayarc.com.
