Michael Stuart Ray, 79 of Greenwood, IN passed away on Sunday, March 22, 2026 at Community Hospital South in Indianapolis, IN.

He was born May 7, 1946 in Reedsburg, Wisconsin to James Ray and Shirley (Worden) Ray.  He married Mary Ann (Bartle) Ray, she preceded him in death on August 27, 2025.

He was a former owner and operator of Chick-fil-A in Clarksville, IN and later in Castleton, Indiana.

Survivors include his daughters Mindy Ray Bemis and her husband Billy of Greenwood, IN and Jamie Jo Ray Spears and her spouse Mark of Brownsburg, IN, grandchildren Chanie (Hoyt) Mitchell and spouse Chase, Cydney Hoyt, Jack Spears, Ellie Bemis, Charlie Bemis, Evie Bemis and Sadie Bemis, great-grandchildren Easton Mitchell and Caroline Mitchell, nephew Brian Bartle and his wife Donna.

He was preceded in death by his parents and wife.

Services are private.
