Myra Louise (Lawson) Brooks Howe, 83, of Holiday, Florida, formerly of Indianapolis, IN passed away Saturday, May 11, 2024 at Suncoast Hospice Care Center in Palm Harbor, Florida.

She was born October 31, 1940 in Indianapolis, IN to Melvin and Edna (Fisher) Lawson.  She married Kenneth C. Brooks; he preceded her in death on January 3, 1974.  She later married Joe Howe; he also preceded her in death.

Myra was a graduate of Clark Township High School in Johnson County, IN and attended Indiana Business College.

She had been employed at Eli Lilly and Company in Indianapolis, IN and was a loving homemaker.

Survivors include her daughter Kathy Powers (Gaver Powers) of Holiday, Florida, her son Kevin Brooks (Deborah) of Orlando, FL, three grandchildren Doug Patterson (Audra Wargo) of St. Petersburg, FL, Paris Cruz-Aponte of Orlando, FL, Petra Cruz-Aponte of Orlando, FL and Brianna Kainoa (John) of Hawaii, a sister Mary Donna Dougherty of Needham, IN, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents Melvin and Edna (Fischer) Lawson, husbands Kenneth C. Brooks and Joe Howe, brothers Melvin Lawson and Marvin Lawson.

Pastor Bill Turner will conduct a service on Monday, May 20, 2024 at 1:30PM at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 South U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin, IN and will be live-streamed at www.swartzmortuary.com/obituary/myrahowe.  Friends may call Monday, May 20, 2024 from 11AM until service time at the mortuary.  Burial will follow the service at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Greenwood, IN.
