Neil H. "Handsome" Hill, 85, of Franklin, IN passed away Friday, September 29, 2023.  He was born May 22, 1938 in Salt Lake City, Utah to William Strait Hill and Fanny (Hamblin) Hill.  He married Linda S. (Horne) Hill on December 29, 1961 in Floyd County, Kentucky; she preceded him in death on January 30, 2022.

Neil had been a J.C.L. technician in data processing at Blue Cross Blue Shield in Indianapolis, IN for thirty-four years retiring in 1992.

He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Franklin Ward.

Neil enjoyed sports especially the University of Utah playing against Brigham Young University.  He also enjoyed playing chess, taking rides in the country seeing the farmland going to Swiss Maid Country Market in Hope, IN where he would purchase donuts.

Survivors include his children Alice "Cassie" Hill of Franklin, IN, Dr. N. Strait Hill (Kimberlee) of Columbus, IN, Brian Hill of Fort Knox, KY and Heather Herald of Greenwood, IN, grandchildren Jacob Hill (Hyerim), Drew Hill, Daniel Hill (Hillary), Sarah Kotowski (Derek), Madeline Hill, Bryce Hill, Cassie Corali "CC" Herald, Kamon Herald, Kyle Herald, Amy Rose Herald, Artie Herald and Will Herald, great grandchildren Myles Kotowski, Capri Kotowski, Jade Kotowski, Royce Kotowski, and Skye Kotowski and his fur baby Dixie.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, brothers Paul Hill, Norman Hill and Jimmy Hill, sisters Cora Arnold, Shirley Webber and Lamar Wilhem.

A service will be conducted on Thursday, October 5, 2023 at 10AM at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 South U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin, IN and will be live-streamed at www.swartzmortuary.com.  Friends may call Wednesday, October 4, 2023 from 4PM until 7PM at the mortuary.  Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin, IN.
