Nyla E. (Adams) Edwards, 75, of Greenwood, IN passed away on Tuesday, May 19, 2026 at Ascension St. Vincent Indianapolis.

She was born on April 28, 1951 in Franklin, IN to Weldon and Othello (Day) Adams. She married Larry Edwards on November 6, 1970 at the Smith Valley United Methodist Church in Greenwood, IN, he survives.

Nyla was a 1969 graduate of Center Grove High School.

She had been an office manager for the Ray Skillman Auto Group in Greenwood.

Nyla enjoyed reading and spending time with her family.

Survivors include her husband Larry Edwards of Greenwood, IN, her sons Josh Edwards (Betsy) of Nineveh, IN and Justin Edwards of Greenwood, IN, her grandchildren Lucy Edwards, Sydney Fischer (Austin), Jenna Hefley (Christian) and Hunter Edwards, her great grandchild Raiden Fischer, many beloved cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, sister-in-law and brother-in-law.

She was preceded in death by her parents Weldon and Othello (Day) Adams, sisters Nonie W. Shields on June 25, 2004 and Cynthia Othello Adams on March 4, 2020 and her best friend Mary Reed.

A visitation time of gathering and sharing will take place on Tuesday, May 26, 2026 from 5PM until 8PM at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 South U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin, IN.

Burial and a private family graveside will follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Greenwood.
