Patricia "Pat"
J. Walker
June 26, 1947 — April 1, 2025
Greenwood
Patricia J. "Pat" (Freeman) Walker, 77, of Greenwood, IN passed away Tuesday, April 1, 2025.
She was born on June 26, 1947 in Jackson, TN to Manley E. and Hattie L. (Davis) Freeman. She married Max Walker on October 4, 1969 in Indianapolis, IN, he survives.
She attended elementary schools in Maywood Public Schools #2, #6 and #18. She graduated from Manual High School and that is where she met Max, her husband, in band class. They dated for seven years and married. Throughout their marriage, they loved doing things together from just sitting and talking, taking care of their many dogs, which they loved very much, working on cars, sports car racing, working on home projects, traveling, and participating in race walks all over the country where they made lifelong friends.
Pat enjoyed a 32-year career at Western Electric/AT&T/Lucent Technologies retiring in September of 1999. Max retired the same day as Pat and they enjoyed retirement to the fullest until she was called home. She loved the Lord, Max, family and friends. She lived a wonderful life and was so thankful for all of God's gifts throughout her life, which were many. One of her favorite sayings was "There is Something Good to Love in Everyday" and she tried to find them each day.
Survivors include her husband Max Walker of Greenwood, IN, her brother Billy Wayne Freeman of Indianapolis, IN, two sisters-in-law Julia Smiley (Dale) of Avon, IN and Marcia Hahn of Colorado Springs, CO, nephews Carl "Jack", Steven, Curt, Darren, Kevin, Bret and nieces Robynn, Stephannie, Amanda, Audra, Erin and great nephews and nieces.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Carrie Nell Price and Shirley Faye Miller, a brother-in-law Bill Hahn and a sister-in-law Judith Lucille Freeman.
