Patty L. (Shirley) Swartz, 85, of Greenwood, IN passed away Monday, September 25, 2023 at her residence in Greenwood, IN.  She was born December 29, 1937 in Greenwood, IN to William T. and Opal Irene (Gray) Shirley.  She married Jackie E. "Jack" Swartz on November 27, 1964 at First Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Franklin, IN, he survives.

She was a 1957 graduate of Trafalgar High School and completed her dental hygienist degree at the I.U. School of Dentistry.

Patty had been a dental hygienist for William J. Allman, DDS on the Indianapolis Southside for several years.  She alongside her husband farmed in the Stones Crossing Community of White River Township, Johnson County for over fifty years.  Patty had also worked in the office of John Records, MD in Franklin, IN.  She and her husband also owned and operated Stones Crossing Lawn and Garden Center in Greenwood, IN for twenty years.

She was a former active member of the Community Church of Greenwood where she was a member of the church choir, and a member of the Johnson County Progressive Farmers Club.  For many years, she alongside her husband enjoyed delivering Christmas baskets for the Good Cheer Fund of Johnson County.  Patty also had served as a volunteer at Franciscan Health in Indianapolis for several years.

Survivors include her husband Jackie E. "Jack" Swartz of Greenwood, IN, sons Scott E. Swartz (Mary) of Franklin, IN and Todd E. Swartz (Jennifer) of Greenwood, IN, three grandchildren Adam G. Swartz, Amanda R. Swartz and Aydren J. Swartz.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother Kenneth T. Shirley, sisters Mary Alice Petro, Betty M. Wilkerson and Marjorie L. Terrell and an infant brother James William Shirley.

Pastors Shan Rutherford and Dean Jones will conduct a service on Saturday, September 30, 2023 at 1PM at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 South U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin, IN and will be live-streamed at www.swartzmortuary.com.  Friends may call Friday, September 29, 2023 from 4PM until 8PM at the mortuary.  Burial will be at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Greenwood, IN.
