Obituary

Peggy Ann (Joslin) Branson, 81, of Franklin, IN passed away Tuesday, October 3, 2023 at Otterbein Franklin Seniorlife Community.  She was born October 10, 1941 in Cleveland, OH to Owen and Mary Jane (Crampton) Joslin.  She married Reverend Ronald H. Branson on February 21, 1959 in Muncie, IN, he survives.

Peggy grew up in Muncie and graduated from Muncie Central High School.  For many years she raised her family and even attended Ball State graduating Summa Cum Laud.  Peggy and her family moved to Indianapolis, where she worked in the Lawrence Library.  When her husband became a United Methodist Church Pastor, they moved throughout Indiana living in Graysville, Thorntown and Danville where they first settled in retirement.  Later Peggy and Ron transitioned to the Franklin United Methodist Community now Otterbein Franklin Seniorlife Community.

Peggy was a servant in life helping others and her primary love was caring for her family.  Having been the wife of a Pastor she continued the idea of loving their extended family of parishioners.  Peggy was a devoted friend, loving daughter, sister, wife, grandmother and friend. All who knew Peggy mourn her passing.

Survivors include her husband Reverend Ronald H. Branson of Franklin, IN, her son Reverend Ronald O. Branson of Plainfield, IN, her daughter Cheryl Gillespie of Danville, IN, nine grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and a sister Sharon Branson of Muncie, IN.

She was preceded in death by her parents Owen and Mary Jane (Crampton) Joslin and her daughter Linda Masters.

Friends may call Saturday, October 7, 2023 at the Wright Chapel of Otterbein Franklin Seniorlife Community, 1070 West Jefferson Street, Franklin, IN from 10AM until 11AM at which time Chaplain Deb Baker will share a service.  A graveside service will follow on Saturday, October 7, 2023 at 1:30 PM at West Ridge Park Cemetery, 9295 West 21st Street, Indianapolis, IN 46234 with the Reverend Ronald O. Branson officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 50 East 91st Street, Suite 100, Indianapolis, IN 46240 or at www.alz.org.

Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 South U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin, IN is handling the arrangements.
