Peggy Lynn O'Day

Peggy Lynn (Wimsatt) O’Day, 63, of Franklin, IN, passed away on Monday, September 14, 2026 with her family by her side.

She was born on August 3, 1963 in Louisville, KY to George Arthur Wimsatt and Geri Lee (Douglas) Wimsatt. Peggy married William (Bill) R. O’Day on March 29, 1991 at their home in Indianapolis, IN. He preceded her in death on February 10, 2026. She was a homemaker.

Peggy enjoyed crafts, gardening and yardwork. She really enjoyed watching IDTV and Life Below Zero.

Survivors include her children and stepchildren, all of whom she was extremely proud of: Rachel (Michael) Turnage, Jeremy (Michelle) O'Day, Jessica (Billy) McCaslin and Crystal (Matthew) Olibo-Loman of Bargersville, IN; her grandchildren Tony O'Day (Sara), Shianna O'Day, Michael Turnage, Jr., Jeremy O'Day (Rachel), Jazmin O'Day, Sheadon O'Day, Jeramyah O'Day, Cherika (Hunter) Gulley, Billy "Bub" McCaslin, Blake McCaslin, Cohen D. Olibo, Landon D. Olibo and Andryanna Loman; her great-grandchildren Luke O'Day, Shawn O'Day, Baker O'Day, Evelyn Wood, Blake McCaslin Jr.; her mother Geri Lee (Douglas) Wimsatt of Indianapolis, IN; her brother George A. Wimsatt Jr. of Indianapolis, IN; her sister Cynthia Bacher (Mike) of Indianapolis, IN and her brother Johnny Wimsatt (Denise) of Indianapolis, IN.

She was preceded in death by her father George Arthur Wimsatt, her husband William R. O’Day and son-in-law Marcus Olibo.

Pastor Rachel Long will conduct a service on Saturday, September 19, 2026 at 2:30 PM at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 South U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin, IN. The service will be live-streamed at www.swartzmortuary.com/obituaries/peggy-oday.

Visitation will take place on Saturday, September 19, 2026 from 1PM until service time at the mortuary.

Burial will follow the service at Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin, IN.
