Peggy Ann (Chandler) Smith, 88, of Franklin, IN and formerly of Hobart, IN passed away Tuesday, February 25, 2025 at Compass Park in Franklin, IN.

She was born September 8, 1936 in Kuttawa, Kentucky to James Solomon Chandler and Dorothy Lee (Yates) Chandler.

She was a graduate of Lyon Community High School.

Peggy had been a sales associate for Macy's in Hobart, IN.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Hobart, attended The Bridge Church in Indianapolis, IN and was a member of Kappa Sigma TAU.

Survivors include her sons Scott A. Smith (Christine) of Portage, IN and Craig L. Smith of Indianapolis, IN, a grandson Jacob M. Smith of Portage, IN, a dear friend Diane Rompilla (Peter) of Franklin, IN, a sister-in-law Ruth Chandler of Culver, IN.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers Jimmy Chandler, Alvin Chandler and Kenneth Chandler.

Services are private.
