Philip Wayne Allen, Sr. 63, of Franklin, IN passed away Sunday, March 13, 2022 in Franklin, IN. He was born September 16, 1958 in Batesville, IN to John R. Allen and Delora (Broughton) Allen Lawrence (Ed). He married Lori Ruth (Black) Allen on December 10, 1977 at Calvary Tabernacle Church in Indianapolis, IN, she survives.
He attended Colerain High School in Cincinnati, Ohio where he played football and was a 1977 graduate of Southport High School.
He was a self-employed businessman. He also enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, and watching the Reds and I.U.
Survivors include his wife Lori Ruth (Black) Allen of Franklin, IN, his son Philip Wayne Allen Jr. of Plainfield, IN, his daughters Heather Nicole Eads (Travis) of Franklin, IN, Tonya Brianne Cruser (Brett) of Columbus, IN and Courtney Danielle Burke (Chris) of Franklin, IN, ten grandchildren Collin, Dominic, Austin, Cash, Olivia, Vivian, Jaxson, Ryder, Harper and Elijah, two brothers John Allen (Beverly) of Cincinnati, OH and Michael Allen (Kim) of Lawrenceburg, IN, two sisters Barbara Allen of Beech Grove, IN and Deborah Logsdon of Arlington, TX and son-in-law Matt Roy of Spencer, IN.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his daughter Kristen Michelle Roy on August 21, 2021.
Reverend Charles Barcus will conduct a service on Saturday, March 19, 2022 at 3PM at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 South U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin, IN and will be live-streamed at www.swartzmortuary.com philip-allen. Friends may call Saturday, March 19, 2022 from 1PM until service time at the mortuary. Burial will be at Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin, IN.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may made to the family and given at the mortuary or mailed.
