Phyllis J. (Donahue) Jacobs, 89, of Franklin, IN passed away Sunday, September 10, 2023 with her family by her side.

She was born July 30, 1934 in Johnson County, Indiana to James Homer and Lillie (Crouch) Donahue.  She married T. Richard "Dick" Jacobs on August 29, 1958 at the Whiteland United Methodist Church; he preceded her in death on February 14, 2021.

Phyllis was a 1952 graduate of Trafalgar High School.

She had worked in the cafeteria at Trafalgar Elementary School and Indian Creek High School.  Later, she had worked at the Trafalgar Family Restaurant.

She was a member of Fair Haven Christian Church.  She enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include her daughter Linda Smith (Scott) of Franklin, IN, her son Tom Jacobs (Judy) of Franklin, IN, four grandchildren Lindsay Jacobs of Spencer, IN, Cory Jacobs of Bloomington, IN, Chad Smith of Franklin, IN and Nicole Smith of Southport, IN, two great-grandchildren Avi Jacobs and Hailee Robbins, and a great-great-grandchild Harper Burkhart.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, her sisters Mary Kean, Dorothy Ashley, Ruth Hall, and a brother Howard Donahue.

Pastor Brian Clark will conduct a graveside service on Friday, September 15, 2023 at 11:30 AM at Nineveh Cemetery in Nineveh, IN.

Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 South U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin, IN is handling the arrangements.
