Phyllis Joann West, 92, of Greenwood, IN and formerly of Indianapolis, IN passed away Sunday, September 10, 2023 at Aspen Trace in Greenwood, IN.

She was born November 22, 1930 in Indianapolis, IN to Arthur Joseph West and Marie Anna (Huhn) West.

Phyllis had worked at Eli Lilly and Company for twenty-five years in the insulin filling finishing department.

Phyllis was a member of the Catholic Church.  She loved gardening, bowling, and was active on bowling leagues, traveling, attending auctions at Christies in Southport, IN and yard sales, and watching squirrels.

Survivors include her brothers Arthur J. West Jr. of Franklin, IN and Paul M. West (Judy) of Indianapolis, IN, four nephews Paul Michael West Jr.(Stephanie-deceased), Anthony Joseph "Tony" West (Katie), Steven Allen West (Aaron Crane), Christopher Charles West (Amanda), four nieces Julie West (Dale Floyd), Jennifer Kean (Rob), Gloria Nordmeyer (Jim) and Joyce Weston (Dennis-deceased), several great and great-great-nieces and nephews.

Her parents, a sister Patricia L. Self, brother-in-law Delbert Self and a sister-in-law Barbara West preceded her in death.

Father Tim DeCrane will conduct a service on Tuesday, September 19, 2023 at 1:30 PM at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 South U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin, IN and will be live-streamed at www.swartzmortuary.com.  Friends may call Tuesday, September 19, 2023 from 11AM until service time at the mortuary.  Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Indianapolis, IN.
