Rachel Geneva (Michael) Wilson, 96, of Franklin, IN passed away on Monday, May 4, 2026 at the Indiana Masonic Home at Compass Park in Franklin, IN.
She was born April 8, 1930 in Columbus, Bartholomew County, IN to Bruce and Mabel (Crawhorn) Michael. Rachel married Donald R. Wilson on October 14, 1949 in Franklin, IN; he preceded her in death on June 18, 2019.
She was a loving homemaker. Previously, she had been an operator and supervisor for the United Telephone Company in Franklin, IN and worked at Arvin's in Columbus.
Rachel enjoyed spending time with her family, singing, traveling and collecting glass birds.
She was known for her kind spirit and a deep love for her family. Rachel enjoyed traveling with her husband and friends, sharing meals with her family and singing with her sisters.
Survivors include her daughter Donna Jo Hendley and son-in-law Paul R. Hendley of Indianapolis, IN, two grandsons Paul Ryan Hendley (Gabrielle) of Wake Forest, NC and Scott Michael Hendley of Indianapolis, IN, a great-granddaughter Mira Hendley and her brother Allen Michael (Judy) of Ft. Myers, FL.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, sisters Ruth Clark, Ellen Jane "Betty" Miller and Dorothy Linneman.
David Sever will conduct a service on Friday, May 8, 2026 at 11 AM at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 South U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin, IN and will be live-streamed at www.swartzmortury.com/obituary/rachelwilson.
Visitation will take place Friday, May 8, 2026 from 10 AM until service time at the mortuary.
Burial will follow the service at Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin, IN.
