Obituary

Raymond Lewis Bolea, 83, of Greenwood, IN passed away peacefully on Monday, April 14, 2025 at his residence, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born July 9, 1941 in Niagara Falls, New York to Samuel Bolea and Angela (Misso) Bolea.  Raymond married Irene Ann (LaGuille) Bolea on August 12, 1961 in Niagara Falls, New York, she survives.

He was a graduate of LaSalle High School in Niagara Falls, NY, and completed his education at IUPUI.  After an early retirement from Farm Bureau Insurance as Vice President of Claims, he started Ray Bolea & Associates, investigating cases for many attorneys.  Ray also owned Tilson Music Store in Southport, IN where he taught music to many students.

He was a member of Lakeview Church in Indianapolis, and Organist for over forty years.  Ray enjoyed boating at Lake Monroe in Bloomington, IN, rebuilding sports cars, and spending time with his four grandsons.  He loved his family, and was a loving and giving person who could fix anything.

He is survived by his wife Irene; his son Bryan Bolea (Patricia) of Grand Rapids, MI, their two sons Joseph and John; his daughter Dawne Eichelberger (Jim) of Greenwood, IN, their two sons Taylor and Blake; his two brothers Dr. Angelo Bolea (Grace) of Maryland and Frank Bolea of
California; his sister Marie Shaffron of Texas, his sister-in-law Shirley Bolea of New York, and several nieces and nephews.

His parents preceded him in death.

Pastors Tom Paino and Neal Dreadin will conduct a service on Friday, April 18, 2025 at 1PM at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 South U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin, IN and will be live-streamed at www.swartzmortuary.com/obituary/raymondbolea .  Friends may call Friday, April 18, 2025 from 11AM until service time at the mortuary.  Burial will follow the service at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Greenwood, IN.  In lieu of flowers, Ray's family wishes for you to take a moment to notice someone in need and help them. Your time, your gift, your love, may be what makes an everlasting difference.  Please do this gesture in remembrance of Ray as that is how he lived his life.

The family would like to acknowledge the loving care given by Ray's encouraging therapists since 2017: James, Allison, Angie, Heidi and Kemi.
