Raymond Lloyd Cragen, 85, of Bargersville, IN passed away on Tuesday, May 5, 2026 in Bargersville, IN.
He was born November 18, 1940 in Martinsville, IN to Ralph Wesley Cragen and Ina Theodora (Baker) Cragen. He married Kathy Sue (Johnson) Cragen on April 8, 1989 at Jollity United Methodist Church in Shelby County, IN, she survives.
Raymond was a 1960 graduate of Morgantown High School. In his days of growing up, he was known as Mr. 4-H.
Raymond served in the United States Army at Ft. Hood, Texas.
He had been a fabricator for ASI Limited in Indianapolis, IN for 10 years and previously for Kawneer in Franklin, IN for 20 years.
Raymond was a member of First Christian Church in Bargersville where he was a member of the SAW's ministry. He was a study buddy for Franklin Study Connections at Union Elementary School.
He enjoyed woodworking having built dollhouses for his granddaughters and barns for his grandsons.
Survivors include his wife Kathy Sue (Johnson) Cragen of Bargersville, IN, his children Sheri D. Suddeth (Brad) of Mooresville, IN, Emily J. Gore (Brad) of Eminence, IN, Brian L. Cragen (Diana) of Plainfield, IN and Kerri E. Coghill (Brendon) of Bargersville, IN, his grandchildren Hailey Morning (Jake), Keiffer Suddeth, Dawson Gore (Anna), Shelby Dye (Steven), Corey Cragen (Angie), Kaitlyn Walker (Wayne), Wesley Cragen, Charlotte Coghill, Calvin Coghill, Kitty Coghill, great-grandchildren Margot Morning, Frankie Morning, Ralphie Dye, Nyah Patterson, Harper Cragen, Bentley Cragen, Paisley Walker, Presley Walker, his siblings Charles Guy Cragen (Norma) of Martinsville, IN, Delbert Ray Cragen of Whiteland, IN, M. Jane Cragen of Bargersville, IN and Joe Wesley Cragen (Pat) of Martinsville, IN.
He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant brother Wayne Thomas Cragen, a sister Marjorie A. Crews, brother-in-law Max M. Crews and his sister-in-law Carol Jane Cragen.
Pastor Dustin Hite will conduct a service on Monday, May 11, 2026 at 10 AM at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 South U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin, IN and will be live-streamed at www.swartzmorturay.com.
Visitation will take place on Sunday, May 10, 2026 from 2PM until 6PM at the mortuary.
Burial will be at Harris Cemetery in Union Township, Bargersville, IN with military honors being conducted by the United States Army Honor Guard.
