Rex Neal Russell, 73, of Bargersville, IN passed away Friday, April 21, 2023.

He was born March 21, 1950 in Franklin, IN to Alex Russell Jr. and Marian Grace (Vandivier) Russell. He married Patricia Ann (Boehle) Russell on October 23, 1976 in Indianapolis, IN, she survives.

Rex was a 1968 graduate of Center Grove High School.

He was a United States Army Veteran having served in Germany.

He had been a field service manager for Brandeis Machinery in Indianapolis, IN, retiring after 30 years of service. He loved farming and working with Long Farms in Franklin, IN for several years.

Rex was a member of Jubilee Masonic Lodge 746 in Whiteland, IN, Indianapolis Valley of the Scottish Rite and Murat Shrine in Indianapolis, IN.

He enjoyed camping, going to "The Club House" in Waverly and fishing with the "Rockin' Reelers". Rex was also a Corvette enthusiast and an avid Indianapolis Colts fan. He also had been a pit crew dad for the Center Grove Marching Trojans. Rex was a loving husband, father, and enjoyed being a Pop Pop, and wonderful uncle to many nieces and nephews.

Rex had served on the Center Grove Facilities Study group.

Survivors include his wife Patty Ann (Boehle) Russell of Bargersville, IN, his two daughters Amber N. Russell of Greenwood, IN and Allison M. Crouch (Jason) of Greenwood, IN, his three grandchildren Dagney Crouch, Alba Crouch and Midas Crouch, his siblings Mary Catherine "Cay" Long (Dr. Norman Long) of West Lafayette, IN, William Russell of Indianapolis, IN, Steve Russell (Sally) of Salt Lake City, UT and Jack Russell of Bargersville, IN.

His parents preceded him in death.

Pastor Jeff Alexander will conduct a service on Wednesday, April 26, 2023 at 11:30 AM at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 South U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin, IN and will be live-streamed at www.swartzmortuary.com . Friends may call Tuesday, April 25, 2023 from 4PM until 8PM at the mortuary. Burial will be at Greenlawn Cemetery with military honors conducted by the United States Army Honor Guard and Franklin American Legion Post 205 Honor Guard.
