Rhea Dawn (Corps) Brown

Rhea Dawn (Corps) Brown, 97, of Indianapolis, IN passed away on Wednesday, July 29, 2026 at Sugar Grove Senior Living in Plainfield, IN.

She was born April 27, 1929 in Bedford, IN to Hubert H. and Clella (Hourigan) Corps. She married David Edward Brown in 1973 and he preceded her in death on April 22, 2008.

She was graduate of the Nursing School in New York.

Rhea had been a registered nurse for Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis and previously St. Francis Hospital in Beech Grove.

She was a member of Greenwood Christian Church for over 60 years where she was a member of the Bible study group and choir.

Survivors include her children Linda French of Indianapolis, IN, Paula Danforth (Ron) of Indianapolis, IN, Paul French (Vanessa) of Martinsville, IN, Robin Furkins of Noblesville, IN, Melody DiGiovanni (John) of Winchester, TN and Bonnie Brown of Brownsburg, IN, 28 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, several great-great-grandchildren and a daughter-in-laws Theresa Brown of Indianapolis, IN and Debi French of Clayton, IN.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, sons Frank French and David W. Brown, a brother Gordon Keith Corps and her former spouse Paul Francis French on February 10, 2000.

Pastor Shan Rutherford will conduct a service on Thursday, August 6, 2026 at 1:30 PM at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 South U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin, IN and will be live-streamed at www.swartzmortuary.com/obituary/rheafrenchbrown.

Visitation will take place on Thursday, August 6, 2026 from 11AM until service time at the mortuary.
