Richard Dale Rife II, 66, of Indianapolis, IN crossed over to heaven on June 12, at 9:32 p.m. at his home in Indianapolis, Indiana. Richard was born on August 14, 1956, in Indianapolis to the late Richard and Charlotte.

Richard graduated from North Central High School in 1974 and later earned a four-year journeyman/wireman degree through IBEW Local 481. He worked at General Motors/Allison Transmission for 37 years as an electrician.

He married Brenda Wilson on June 14, 1975. Nicknamed "Blues," she survives him.

Richard loved his family and enjoyed spending time with his wife, kids, and grandkids as much as possible. He was known for giving everyone a nickname and was rarely heard calling his loved ones by their given names. (Nicknames are included below.)

Children include:

·         daughter Carrie Kirk ("Pechech") and son-in-law Mike ("91") of Danville, Indiana;

·         son Richard Rife III ("3-B") and daughter-in-law Candace ("Brooke") of Highlands Ranch, Colorado;

·         son Adam Rife ("Seance") and daughter-in-law Tricia ("LeiAnn") of Bargersville, Indiana.

Grandchildren include:

·         granddaughter Malorie Larsen ("Snookums") and husband Cole ("Michael");

·         granddaughters Meg Kirk ("Little Lady"), Lola Rife ("LG"), and Maryssa ("Ryss") Kirk;

·         grandsons Cameron ("Big C") and Callen Kirk ("Little C"); Henry ("HS"), Andrew ("And-One"), and William ("Moxie") Rife;

·         great-grandson Beaux Larsen ("Big Man").

Other survivors include his sister Richarda (Ron) Carter and step-siblings and half-siblings Colette (Jim) Huggins, Jim Tremain, Duane Rife, Kelly (Wally) Banny, Karen Cox, Kevin (Sabina) Cox, Trinia (Adam) Price, Mike Rife, and Adrienne (Tony) Rigitano.

He loved the American flag and proudly flew it at his home. He often passed the time by listening to gospel music videos on YouTube, eating all kinds of sweets (including oatmeal cream pies and Swiss cake roles), and attending car shows. He most recently enjoyed traveling to Colorado, Tennessee, and other locations in his RV nicknamed Olde Glory. He loved texting his family about the challenges and successes involving his electrical work.

He referred to warmer weather as "the tropics" and loved going to Naples, Florida, to their second home, especially in the gray and cold Indiana winters. He enjoyed walking and picnicking on the beach and driving his Corvette with the top down.

Richard loved Jesus and attended Southland Church in Greenwood. He was preceded in death by brother Bruce Rife and sister Kimberly Willyard.

Friends and family are welcome to offer their condolences to Richard's family on Saturday, June 17, at Stones Crossing Church, 7000 W. Stones Crossing Road in Greenwood. Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 a.m., followed by a service at 11:00 a.m. in the church auditorium. Pastor Gary DeBoard will officiate.
