Rick ("Ricky") Allen Spaulding, 61, passed away in his Franklin home apartment on April 1, 2025.  He was born on June 30, 1964 to Daphine (Bryant) Wilmoth and Roy Rodgers in Indianapolis, IN.  Rick graduated from Arsenal Tech High School and also attended classes at Ball State University.  He was employed by John Baker and Burton Painting in Franklin, IN.

Ricky's surviving siblings are brothers Roy Rodgers and Jack Bayer and sister Lori Ann Olnick.

His brother Randy Spaulding and both parents as well as Rick's son, Logan Spaulding, preceded him in death.

Although Ricky spent some hard and troubled times in his younger years in Indianapolis, he found a new life when coming to Franklin after becoming close to his friend and fiance', Venetia Hubbard Waterfield.  Together, they attended Franklin Church of Christ, (now Turning Point), where Ricky renewed his faith and changed his life.  He loved sharing Jesus with everyone he met and became a close friend with church elder Charlie Evans.  Rick loved serving others.  He would mow people's lawns and enjoyed helping prepare and serve community meals with the Helping Hands program at Turning Point Church.  Ricky had an infectious smile, huge heart, loved dogs and animals, and enjoyed spending time with Venetia's grandchildren.

Rick is survived by his two brothers and sister, as well as Venetia's family (which he considered his own) including daughters Jordyn, Jade, and Jasmine, and 12 grandchildren, Chase, Colton, Connor, Emmy, Journey, Easton, Nixon, Everette, Lawson, Endly, Espyn, and Ender, and one great-grandchild.

Friends may call on Thursday, April 10th from 1-2pm at Turning Point Church, 3600 N Morton St., Franklin, IN 46131.  Memorial Service will be at 2pm following visitation. Memorial contributions may be made to the Helping Hands Ministry in care of Turning Point Church.
