Rita Kay (Gregory) Donhost, 75, of Bargersville, IN passed away Saturday, January 13, 2024 at Abbie Hunt Bryce Home in Indianapolis, IN.

She was born October 6, 1948 in Binger, Oklahoma to Floyd and Ella Mae (Davis) Gregory.

She had been a LPN for Homeview Health and Rehabilitation Center in Franklin, IN, Four Season Retirement Center in Columbus, IN and Community Hospital East in Indianapolis, IN.

Rita was an animal lover and activist.  She dearly loved her sisters and brothers.

Survivors include her sons Gary L. Donhost of Bargersville, IN and Michael T. Donhost of Bargersville, IN, three grandsons Travis Donhost of Columbus, IN, Tavist Williams of Greenwood, IN and Andrew Donhost of Indianapolis, IN, a sister Karla Witt and her husband Jerry of Chickasha, OK, several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Ralph Gregory, Calvin Gregory, Carl Gregory, Alvin Gregory, and Garland Gregory, sisters Betty Findley, Helen Long, Anita Wilson and Linda Abbott Griffitts.

Pastor Bill Turner will conduct a service on Friday, January 19, 2024 at 2:30PM at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 South U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin, IN 46131 and will be live-streamed at www.swartzmortuary.com.  Friends may call Friday, January 19, 2024 from 1:30PM until service time at the mortuary.  Burial will be at Bluff Creek Cemetery in Greenwood, IN.
