Robert Dorman Floyd, 83, of Indianapolis, IN passed away Tuesday, November 29, 2022 at Rosegate Village in Indianapolis, IN.

He was born February 6, 1939 in Williamsburg, Kentucky.  He married Ruby Anna (Walls) Floyd on December 28, 1962 in Indianapolis, IN, she survives.

He had worked for Acetylene Products in Indianapolis, IN for 35 years.  He previously had been a baker for A&P Baking Company and Wonder Bread in Indianapolis, IN.  He also operated a hay bailing business for many years.

Robert was a horse farrier for 30 years.  He enjoyed pleasure horse riding, and raising and showing beagle dogs.  He was an avid I.U. and Bobby Knight fan.

Survivors include his wife Ruby Anna (Walls) Floyd of Indianapolis, IN, a daughter Norma J. Justus (Jeff) of Indianapolis, IN, a son R. Dale Floyd (Julie West) of Bargersville, IN, two granddaughters Brittany Justus and Autumn Justus of Indianapolis, IN, a stepbrother John Harper of Kentucky, two stepsisters Dorothy Pittman and Sue Sims of Eubank, KY, a sister-in-law Lois Renner (Dave) of Indianapolis, IN, brother-in-laws Leroy Walls (Karen) of Martinsville, IN, Roger Walls (Kathy) of Martinsville, IN and Lonnie Walls of Indianapolis, several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother Iva (Floyd) Harper Pittman Sims and a sister-in-law Mary Martin (Russell).

Pastor Doug Rumsey will conduct a service on Monday, December 5, 2022 at 2PM at Trinity Southern Baptist Church, 375 East Southport Road in Indianapolis, IN 46227.  Friends may call Sunday, December 4, 2022 from 2PM until 5PM at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 South U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin, IN and Monday, December 5, 2022 from 1PM until service time at the church.  Burial will follow the service at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Greenwood, IN.
