Robert Eric "Bob" "Jake" Jacobson, 84, of Greenwood, IN went to his heavenly home on December 29, 2025.

He was born July 31, 1941 in Columbus, Ohio to Harry Christian Jacobson and Lillian Guinevere (Lucas) Jacobson.

Bob married Carolyn Kay (Knott) Jacobson on November 19, 1959 at Broadway United Methodist Church in Indianapolis, IN, she survives.

He was a graduate of Arsenal Technical High School in Indianapolis, IN.

Bob's work experience included restaurant management and store design, banking, model car racing storeowner, computer programmer at Indiana Bell, Bell Labs and AT&T, information systems management at Indiana Bell and Indianapolis Public Schools and golf course maintenance after retirement from Indiana Bell.

He enjoyed playing basketball and tennis in his younger years and traveling the United States with Carolyn later in life.

While always a Christian, he found a greater purpose through his church family at Mt. Auburn Church at Stones Crossing, Greenwood, teaching Bible study, and service to the community for the last 20 years. Bob also volunteered at the Interchurch Food Pantry of Johnson County in Franklin.

Survivors include his wife of 66 years Carolyn Kay (Knott) Jacobson of Greenwood, IN, his children Lori Ann Turner (Kenton) of Trafalgar, IN and Robert Eric Jacobson II (Jamie) of Greenwood, IN, two grandsons Christian Jacobson (Brittney) of Greenwood, IN and Chase Hawkins of Indianapolis, IN, two great-grandchildren Andrew Jacobson and Hailey Jacobson.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Judith Ann Merrifield and a brother Ronald Lynn Jacobson.

Pastor Ben Greenbaum will conduct a celebration of life memorial service on Thursday, January 8, 2026 at 3PM at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 South U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin, IN and will be live-streamed at www.swartzmortuary.com/obituary/robertjacobson.  Visitation will be Thursday, January 8, 2026 from 1PM until service time at the mortuary.
