Robert Steven "Bob" McLaughlin, 85, of Greenwood, IN passed away on Wednesday, December 31, 2025 at Franciscan Hospice House in Indianapolis, IN.

He was born December 24, 1940 in Bristow, Oklahoma.  His parents were Kenneth McLaughlin and Lucy (Byus) Summers.  He married Elizabeth "Liz" (Lavender) McLaughlin on March 31, 1962, who preceded him in death on March 23, 2023.

Bob was a 1958 graduate of Thomas Carr Howe High School in Indianapolis, IN and received his realtor certifications, CRJ and CRI and was a real estate broker for 50 years, retiring in 2019.

A lifelong resident of the Indianapolis Southside, Greenwood, Bob was also a United States Navy Veteran.

He was a member of Southland Community Church in Greenwood, former member of the Community Church of Greenwood and the Metropolitan Board of Realtors. He enjoyed antiquing, fishing with the grandchildren and trips to Canada, traveling, ballroom dancing and watching movies with his wife, Liz and watching cowboy shows and movies.

Survivors include his daughter Rebecca "Becky" Johnson (Judd) of Ft. Wayne, IN, his son Dan McLaughlin (Denise) of Greenwood, IN, grandsons Ben Johnson (Katie) of Austin, TX, EJ Johnson (Mariah) of New Haven, IN, David McLaughlin of Greenwood, IN, a granddaughter Danielle McLaughlin of Greenwood, IN, his siblings Allana Morency, Patricia Sanchez, Darren McLaughlin and Kendy Pearson

He was preceded in death by his Dad, Mom, Wife and Stepmom Avis McLaughlin.

Dr. Charles Lake will conduct a service on Wednesday, January 7, 2026 at 11AM at Southland Community Church, 5800 West Smith Valley Road, Greenwood, IN.

Visitation will take place on Tuesday, January 6, 2026 from 4PM until 7PM at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 South U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin, IN and Wednesday, January 7, 2026 from 10AM until service time at the church.

A graveside service will follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Greenwood, IN.
