Roger Allen Van Horn, 69, of Bargersville, IN passed away Friday, February 4, 2022 at Aspen Trace Health and Living in Greenwood, IN.
He was born October 17, 1952 in Linton, IN.
Roger was a 1971 graduate of Center Grove High School and attended Baptist Bible College in Springfield, MO. He was President/C.E.O. of The Gig before retiring in 2019.
He loved horses, motorcycles, music and coffee houses.
After college Roger spent the next several years in the automotive industry, as an equestrian and playing semi-pro football. He then found his true vocational calling as a DJ, beginning at The Turntable in Casey, IL, bringing joy to countless people while doing what he most loved to do.
Roger found great comfort in his relationship with Jesus Christ and in the friendships he was blessed with through the years. He was greatly loved and will be missed by many. He provided memories that will still be bringing smiles to faces years from now.
Survivors include his sisters Shelia Rose (Heaton) Hendrickson (Jim) of Greenwood, IN, Elaine Marie (Heaton) Regas (Ron) of Uniontown, OH and Eileen Mary (Heaton) Vaught (Danny) of Bargersville, IN, niece Angie Hendrickson and nephews Andrew Hendrickson, Joseph Regas, John Regas (Morgan), Zachary Vaught (Keri), Thomas Vaught, Samuel Vaught (Hannah) and eleven great-nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother Mary Marie (Brannon) Heaton and father Wilbur J. "Red" Heaton.
Pastor Rick Cochran will conduct a celebration of life service on Thursday, February 10, 2022 at 10:30 A.M. at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 South U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin, IN and will be live-streamed for family and friends to connect at www.swartzmortuary.com roger-vanhorn. Friends may call Wednesday, February 9, 2022 from 4PM until 8PM at the mortuary.
Inurnment will be at Bluff Creek Cemetery in Greenwood, IN at a future date.
