Ronald "Slug" Eugene Belton, 49, of Greenwood, IN passed away Tuesday, March 25, 2025 at Franciscan Health in Indianapolis, IN.
He was born April 19, 1975 in Franklin, IN to Ronald Lynn Belton and Joyce M. (Shockley) Belton. He married Rae A. (Lee) Belton on January 27, 2003 in Indianapolis, IN, she survives.
Slug attended Decatur Central High School.
He had been a heavy equipment operator foreman for Earth Resources in Lebanon, IN for several years.
Slug enjoyed cooking, fishing, pontoon boating and spending time at Lake Monroe and also at the Capital City Conservation Club south of Bargersville. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife Rae A. (Lee) Belton of Greenwood, IN, his sons Case Allen of Monrovia, IN, Connor Andrew (fiancé McKenzie Trackwell) of Indianapolis, IN, Samuel Ethan Colburn of Greenwood, IN and Thomas Malcom Hopper of Greenwood, IN, his mother Joyce M. (Shockley) Belton (Jeff Hopper) of Indianapolis, IN, brothers Ben Belton (Mallory) of Martinsville, IN and Michael Belton of Indianapolis, IN, one grandson coming soon, several cousins, and his fur baby Ruthie.
His father Ronald Lynn Belton preceded him in death.
Pastor Rick Garrett will conduct a service on Sunday, March 30, 2025 at 2PM at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 South U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin, IN and will be live-streamed at www.swartzmortuary.com/obituary/ronaldbelton. Friends may call Sunday, March 30, 2025 from 12 Noon until service time at the mortuary. Burial will follow the service at Greenwood Cemetery.
