Roy Michael "Mike" Weddle, 87, of Greenwood, IN passed away on Wednesday May 21, 2025 at Aspen Trace in Greenwood, IN.
He was born August 5, 1937 in Franklin, IN to Merrill Day Weddle and Frances Louise (Ford) Weddle. He married Shirley Anne (Cecil) Weddle on August 19, 1960 at Smith Valley United Methodist Church in Greenwood, she survives.
Mike was a 1955 graduate of Union Township School in Johnson County.
He served honorably in the Indiana National Guard.
Mike worked his way from factory floor worker to an associate buyer for Western Electric/AT&T for forty years retiring in 1996.
He was a current member of Grace United Methodist Church in Franklin, IN. Mike had been an avid bowler, active supporter of his children and grandchildren in their sports and school activities, church leader at Smith Valley United Methodist, Little League Coach, and a loving husband, father and grandfather.
Survivors include his wife Shirley Anne (Cecil) Weddle of Greenwood, IN, his son Michael W. Weddle (Susan) of Franklin, IN, his daughters Debra Hans (John) of Mooresville, IN and Cindy Oakes (Mark) of Newburgh, IN, grandchildren Brad Oakes, Isaac Hans, Lexi Day (Eric), Jake Oakes and Cali Weddle (fiancé Zach Howell), and a sister Barbara Sheppard of Cape Coral, FL.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers Richard Weddle, Larry Weddle and Merrill Day Weddle Jr.
Mike Weddle and Reverend Dr. Jenothy Irvine will conduct service on Thursday, May 29, 2025 at 1PM at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 South U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin, IN and will be live-streamed at www.swartzmortuary.com/obituary/roymichaelweddle. Friends may call Thursday, May 29, 2025 from 11AM until service time at the mortuary.
Burial will follow the service at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Greenwood, IN.
