Sandra Lynn "Sandy" (Drane) Richardson, 70, of Franklin, IN passed away Monday, November 13, 2023 at her residence surrounded by her family.

She was born August 8, 1953 in Franklin, IN to James Clinton Drane and Mildred Marie (Browning) Drane.  She married Donald R. Richardson on August 14, 1971 in Franklin, IN; he preceded her in death on June 1, 2018.

Sandy was a 1971 graduate of Center Grove High School.

She had worked at Mr. D's grocery store in Whiteland, IN and later Byrider in Greenwood, IN as a service manager.

Sandy enjoyed Tennessee football, the Indianapolis Colts, working puzzles, crocheting, fishing, crafts, family get togethers and luncheons with her class of '71 classmates.

She and her husband were residents of New Tazwell, TN from 2006 until 2019.

Survivors include her son Shannon Richardson (Angie) of Franklin, IN and Brent "Lumpy" Richardson (Cary) of Martinsville, IN, her grandchildren Cody Richardson, Alivia Richardson, Gabe Richardson, Keeley Richardson, Gary Vinson Jr. and Keith Vinson, two step-granddaughters Chloe George and Bella George, three step- great-grandchildren Jayden Booker, McKylie Booker and Jordan Booker, a brother Terry Drane of Trafalgar, IN and a sister Carol Fassett (Wayne) of Lilliwaup, WA.

She was preceded in death by her husband Donald R. Richardson, parents James Clinton Drane and Mildred Marie (Browning) Drane, her grandmothers Orpha Carter and Bessie Howard.

The Reverend Mitchell Keck will conduct a service on Monday, November 20, 2023 at 10:30AM at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 South U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin, IN and will be live-streamed at www.swartzmortuary.com.  Friends may call Sunday, November 19, 2023 from 3PM until 6PM at the mortuary.  Burial will be at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Greenwood, IN.
